This season, less is just fine with me and enough to get us all in the holiday spirit (inside and outside).

A few months ago, we invited neighbors Ken, Victoria, Taunya and Robert for a traditional Hungarian dinner (and Frank's speciality - chicken paprikash). Ken and Victoria tried to recreate the recipe but weren't as successful as they had hoped. So at a gathering this weekend, Ken and Victoria asked if Frank would do a Paprikash cooking school. :o)
Frank did all the shopping and was very excited to share his mother's recipe (that he's tweaked over the years)!

Ken is the master of self-portraits!
Getting the chicken ready
Victoria chopping the onion.
Important spices - salt, pepper, paprika (hot and sweet)
Checking on the progress - Looking good!
Time to remove the skin.
Shredding the chicken.
More paprika!
Adding it all to the pot.
(We opted for the pre-packaged spaetzle. Note to self: make it homemade next time.)
Menu: Paprikash, beets, red cabbage, green salad and rye bread
Grasshopper Ken serves up the dinner
Delicious!
Thanks Ken and Victoria for the suggestion! Who knows, this could be the start of a new gathering! (Goodness knows we've got enough recipes from our travels and cooking schools.) :o)
