Getting her angel wings

Early Easter Sunday morning, Frank's mom peacefully passed away from kidney disease.

Frank and I were fortunate to have spent most of Saturday at her bedside where she was comfortable and not in any pain. His sister, Jan, spent the previous few nights at the nursing home with her and was with her when she got her angel wings.

Alice was just shy of her 89th birthday and had a wonderful life! Her four children are all in Florida and they were able to spend time with her recently. And she was able to see nearly all of her grandchildren in the past few months.  

What a legacy she and her husband "Chully" leave behind!  4 children, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  

Alice was the last of the Szabo sisters and the last of the siblings and in-laws on her husband's side affectionately known as the "Oldie Moldies".  (I've heard stories about this group and now that they are all reunited, the parties will surely rival the infamous gatherings and Jones Family Reunions of the past!)

She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and traveling.  In recent years, she looked forward to watching the PGA tournaments on TV.  I'm pretty sure Alice had a front row seat on the green (or wherever she wanted) at "Amen Corner" for the last round of The Masters on Sunday.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date and she will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, next to Frank's father.
