are just dying to know what has kept us so busy that there hasn't been a blog update recently.
Well, to tell you the truth, not much has been going on. But if you must know, and I know many of you do, here goes.
We left Tallahassee on Monday, heading for Tampa. Over the weekend, Frank picked up a cold so he's spent the better part of the week coughing, hacking, wheezing and being downright yucky. The good news out of this is we have been eating a lot of chicken soup and hopefully lost a few pounds from the preceding weekend's debauchery.
I continue to obsess over the millipedes! The bug guy has been out every week for the past 3-4 weeks, changing potions and they still continue to find their way inside. Fortunately, they aren't gross/dirty/germ spreaders like flies or roaches. But they are driving me crazy! Calling them bad names wasn't working so I thought I would try a nicer approach. I scan the doorways and windows - nothing - but as soon as I look a different direction, they magically appear in the middle of the room. I'm seriously considering starting a drinking game!
But I digress.
Saturday morning, we worked to get the boat cleaned. The Nauti Nole has been sitting on the lift for a few months and while we given it a bath once a month, it needed a good scrubbing. The weather was beautiful so it wasn't as torturous a job when it's blistering hot! Plus we had a deadline - FSU football at noon.
We were ready for some football! The Seminoles were playing UVA in Virginia. TV was tuned and the necessary football-watching provisions were in hand. It was a great game and ended in a WIN for the Noles (34-14)!
We were invited to watch the Alabama-Florida game at the Broomes Saturday evening. Good game-watching grazing food, laughs with friends and then game. Needless to say, the Broomes were not happy campers. (And that's all I'm going to say about that.)
We made great progress unpacking boxes and cleaning out the garage of the things we brought back from North Carolina.
For the past few weeks, we have been making plans to attend the FSU-UM game in Miami. Well, no such thing as "just going to the game". It's turned into a full-fledged away game event-filled weekend.. (I guess I don't think of it as "away" since we are in the same state.) We have an pretty cool event at Hugh's Culinary, Thursday evening. Friday is a boat trip to Stiltsville followed by dinner in Miami. Then the game is at 8:00 on Saturday. We are looking forward to a fun time with Ray, Bonnie and many of the other South Florida Noles!
Pictures from the weekend will follow, probably on Monday or Tuesday.
