A weekend of debauchery, gluttony and fun in South Florida, all in the name of football! (1 of 2)

Living up to our name Crazy Travelers this weekend in South Florida.  We left Tampa on Wednesday, heading for the condo in Stuart.  Thursday we took care of a few things there before we repacked, loaded the 'yota and hit the road - Delray Beach bound!

The fun was about to begin.

Ray, Bonnie, Frank and I were going to a Booster event at Hugh's Culinary in Ft. Lauderdale.  Yummy food, tasty wine and an opportunity to meet new people, all of whom had one thing in common - support of the Seminoles.
Back to Delray Beach for the night with a stop at the Seagate Hotel for a beverage.  Another fun event was ahead for us on Friday!
After a filling breakfast at The Green Owl in Delray Beach, we put the car in motion, with our interim destination being the Key Biscayne Yacht Club

From the yacht club, we were going by boat to the Biscayne Bay National Park and one of the Stiltsville houses.  (More Stiltsville info.)

The house we were going to is owned by the Miami Springs Power Boat Club.  Amy and Jamie Z were our hosts for the day.  A couple of boats (complete with Captain and mates) were loaded up and we were shuttled out to the house.
Six of the seven houses left in Stiltsville.

This house is owned by the Miami Springs Power Boat Club.

This is what a relaxin' Nole looks like.

We were introduced to a new game - Flip Cup.  Was a fun mix of young and not-so-young Seminoles.  :o)
Ray, Ronnie and Frank - strategizing.
Bonnie was a pro!

What a terrific day!  The weather was beautiful - sunny, breezy, perfect!
It was another opportunity to meet more Seminoles, enjoy a boat ride and time at a one-of-a kind place.

After a fun-filled day on the water, we needed to get ready for dinner.  Ray & Bonnie made arrangements with their son, Doug, for us to spend the night at his apartment in downtown Miami.  What a nice place with an amazing view!

(Not as perfect as I would like...Still trying to get the hang of the panoramic function on the camera.)

Dinner that evening was at Capital Grille.  While the food was good, we were very disappointed that it did not turn out to be the event we were anticipating.

Back to the apartment for a good night's sleep because Saturday was going to be a long day - the football game wasn't for kickoff until 8:00pm!
