Day 4 - More fun in Portland

If you've been following from the beginning of the trip, you'll notice a theme....Food! And on Day 4, we continued that theme.

For quite a while, we've pondered visiting a donut shop in downtown Portland called VooDoo Doughnuts. We've seen it on the FoodNetwork and Travel channel a couple of times and they are known for their unusual donut creations.

We ordered the VooDoo Dozen (where they pick what goes in the box) and enjoyed two super sugary treats before we left the shop. We thought it would be a nice taste-test opportunity for everyone back at the house. (Isn't that what Aunties are supposed to do....sugar-up the kids??)

"Good Things Come in Pink Boxes"

VooDoo menu
Yes, those are Capt'N Crunch Berries on one, Double-Bubble Bubble Gum on the pink one, Cocoa Puffs on another, M&Ms on one and then some 'regular' ones. Much to our disappointment, they were out of the Maple-Bacon Donuts. :o(
Chris liked the Double-Bubble the best and Nate liked the M&M one, or was it the maple-glazed? Either way, there were enough for them to sample a few times.
"What in the world?", you ask. Yep, it's the Grilled Cheese wagon, not to far from Daniel and Kathy's. And can you believe the locals we know in Portland haven't been yet?? It was a fun lunch!
Old School - grilled cheese with a cup of tomato soup. Mmmmmmm!
On Thursday afternoons, Nate and Chris go to soccer practice. They really seem to enjoy it.
Nate likes being goalie.
Lots of little boys, and girls, come to soccer.

Scrimmage time. But Nate and Chris are in different groups.
Nate protects the goal and then runs back out.
After soccer it was time for dinner and we all headed to Kennedy School. Yummy burgers, sandwiches and beers.
Thank you Chris, Nate, Kathy and Daniel for a very fun time in Portland.
The weather was perfect and we did so many fun things.
Our time went by very quickly...guess we'll have to come out again.
