Day 10 - Red and Bryce Canyons

Spectacular!  Amazing!  Breath-taking!  All words to describe what we saw while traveling through Red Canyon and spending time at Bryce Canyon.  Be sure to click on the pictures (especially the panoramic ones) to enlarge.  The pictures don't do these formations justice but I hope you will enjoy!

We made a last minute reservation at Bryce Canyon Lodge.  (This is about as close to camping as I get.)

The room was very comfortable!  (ok, there was no TV and any WIFI connection had to be while you were at the lodge.)

BCL is committed to reducing their footprint and practice what they preach!

Screened porch off the room with a view into the forest.

Access to the Rim Trail was 200 steps from the back door of lodge.  (I started half way between Sunrise Point and Sunset Point.)
This was my view after leaving the forest path and approaching the rim trail.

"She who is directionally challenged" wanted to see what direction Sunrise Point was facing.

The paths are hiking trails.

View of Sunrise Point (zoomed in from Sunset Point).

View of the Amphitheater the next morning.

I'm running out of adjectives to describe the awesomeness of these formations!  To stand on the edge and peer over to see Mother Nature's handiwork is truly a moving experience!

Day 11 - We left Bryce Canyon and started our trek toward Jackson, Wyoming.  Here are a few pictures from that part of our journey.  After leaving Bryce Canyon, there is a 'lodging opportunity' where you can stay in a TeePee.  (Personally, I prefer our TeePee.)  :o)

Having spent quite a bit of time traveling through the "deserts" in Arizona and Nevada, it was nice to see more green!

Our next stop is Jackson, Wyoming.  Looking forward to seeing new territory and Yellowstone!
